June 6th rumor

It looks like there are rumors floating around that the cutoff will be June 6. This is different. A bad rumor (only half of May 31st) before a better rumor. Usually they start out pretty good and then get worse.

HI!
The June 6th rumour isn't too suprising really. what would be suprising is a rumour that they were matching nearer the 17th (friday). we were hoping here that they'd at least get into the week of the 6th through 10th so this is good news than the "just the 31st" rumour.
katelynn-
Fingerprints 'expire' 15 months from when they're done. Your agency should provide you the info of what to do to get re-fingerprinted. You should call them asap. They should have the expiration date for you as well. If you know where your I-171H copy and all your paperwork is, it's probably listed in there also.
With a June 10th LID you're going to need to have it done soon. We're Aug 10 and were told we'd get an email around the end of May with info on having our fingerprints redone as our expire late August and we know we're not going to be matched and back from China with our daughter by then. Hope this helps :)

Hey,anyone see the 60 minutes segment about boys out numbering girls in China? In one province it is 100 girls to every 150 boys! Of course, most of us know this but it was interesting to see it. At one point they are at a high school with 7000 students. As they scanned the crowd you saw VERY VERY few girls.
Could this be the beginning of the human interest stories we will see as we gear up for the 2008 Olimpics?

i saw the 60 minutes, it was interesting but it made me cringe. i can only hope there isn't an escalation of these kinds of human interest stories leading up to the olympics.

i just don't think the chinese like this kind of publicity, it does not make them look good and it certainly doesn't help our cause.

seeing all the foreigners picking up their babies is inspiring, but since it probably makes the chinese govt crabby, i'd just as soon not see it on tv!

Katelynn - I believe the standard fingerprint expiration is 15 months. We did ours on March 18th last year and they are set to expire in June... so with a June 29th LID, we went ahead and submitted for a new appointment. We get re-fingerprinted on May 6th. Hope this helps.

Minnesota home studies expire after one year, but since it is a MN rule and not a China rule, our social worker said that we will only need to update if we also have to re-do the I-171H, which I am really hoping we don't have to do (we have a November LID and our I-171H expires in mid-April 2007).
