Rumor Thread

Since I think the rumors may start flying I've turned anon posting on. So, for now, there are three ways to get a rumor out.
  1. Email it to me. This way you can give me the agency and I can let everyone know if a rumor is coming from one agency or multiple agencies without giving the agency away.
  2. Post it with your name - you choose whether to list the agency or not.
  3. Post it anonymously. Again, you choose whether to list the agency or not.
The thread below this one is for chitchat. Ya'll should know the rules by now. Be nice, no proselytizing, etc.

Today I will try and be optimistic. I keep seeing the date of June 6th and can't help but wonder if agencies are just being ultra conservative after the recent heartbreaks.
If an agency is saying up to the 6th of June, then I do believe it will go a few days further. Would any agency send out specific cut off details this month after the disaster of last? I don't think so. I think they are smart to play it safe! I think we will see matches to the 8th at the very least!

I doubt it. I'm sticking with May 31st and will be thrilled with June 6th (well, not thrilled but not disappointed).

I want to be optimistic. And I want it to be true. But I don't think that the 6th is really a 'firm' rumour yet given that we haven't really heard that from multiple sources...or know who the sources are.

I wish I had a rumour to post but my agency does not communicate with us at all about timing.

it'd be nice if it went beyond june 6, but the only problem is, have we EVER gotten a better outcome than the prevailing rumor?

not that i can remember! its always worse, if anything. so if ccai is saying 'the first week in june' i would be shocked if it were any better than that...

I'm LID June 6 and my agency is refusing to tell me if we'll be included this time or not. Not a peep.

Chinamom, Our agency (CHI) told us on their elist that after Chinese New Year the CCAA added two additional people to the staff to focus on LIDs. Unfortunately, yours was sent just before they were hired I bet, and the people who were sent just after benefited from the additional staff.

chinamom -- i understand your frustration with the long time to log-in. We were DTC 9/26/05, but not logged in until 10/27/05. it seems there is not much rhyme or reason, it just is. annoying, ventable, but not much we can do, but understand what others are going through.

Just a gentle reminder, let's try to keep this thread to rumors and the other thread to chitchat.

I still think what they mean by the first week of June is to June 3rd. I know it is sad, but I don't want to get my hopes up again just to be shot down again. Last month they referred 3 LID, this time I think it will be 3 again. May 31, June 2, and June 3. No hard facts to back to back this up.

Has anyone's agency told them that September is out of the review room?

what about the weight thread on APC? a lady said her husband was asked for an additional doctor's note to say he was healthy enough to raise a child simply because he's 20lbs overweight. 20lbs is nothing in the usa!
it seems they are really shaking-up the rules catch as catch can @ ccaa.

CCAI is confirming matches through June 3rd; however, they are saying that they are not sure if additional June days will be included at this time but they are able to confirm through June 3rd.

1:09 - someone on our DTC list e-mailed the family and found out the husband had really high cholesterol - so it was not the weight that was in itself the concern.

But can anyone confirm WHEN these referrals will come? (A very antsy 5/31 LID here)

1:16 Did they say when they are coming? What is their next LID after the 3rd? Are they usually right? Were they right last time when we only got May 26-30?

Rumor Queen,
Last month when you posted the information from the "person who should know" that China intends to keep the wait at around 12 months or so, etc., I had a glimmer of hope as I'm sure many did. You seemed pretty confident that this person knew what he was talking about & that the information may very well be from as close to the horse's mouth as we're going to get...as we continue to speculate. Can you please shed some light on why that person's input is seemingly totally out the window this month?

alright, is the cut off June 3rd or June 6th. Which agency is the most credible?

1:16 - Where has CCAI confirmed that matches will go through June 3rd? I haven't seen anything saying this on their website.

CCAI is saying this next batch will include 5/31 LIDs and the first week of June. They are unsure of anything past that. This is verbatim. It has also been spoken from a couple of CCAI reps.

1:45 - Thanks. I saw the 'first week of June' on their website, but not an acutal date.

For those asking about CCAI - They are conservative and usually very accurate with their information, so I am viewing this is a valid rumor. We'll see.

On the website, CCAI has said they believe matches will go through June 6th. Once again, I believe they are being cautious with this. But they also give a disclaimer that it's not for sure...

Our agency's rep in China indicated that there are over 2000 dossiers for June and that it'll take at least 2 months to get through June

It kind of worries me that we only have one agency that is reporting any referral news. Where are all the other agency's and what are they saying?

4/18/2006 01:57:00 PM

Well, if this blog has taught me anything it is about the difference in agencies. I am now appalled at my agency's claims versus their actions/communication compared to other agencies. Our rep tells us daily in useless email after useless email, "We are communicating with out Beijing office daily", yet they never know anything and never know it first. By the time they tell us anything, it is already well known on the net. Oh, this isn't a rumor, sorry. I can't help myself.

i keep hearing 'the first week of june'-- i dont have a 2005 calendar handy, can anyone say what that means in terms of dates? what day is june 3? i am with ccai and, like the above poster said, they were not specific about dates, they just said 'the first week'

WHERE ON THE CCAI WEBSITE ARE YOU FINDING THIS??? I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE!

I just checked it again and it says through the first week of June, however, when I visited the site this weekend I am pretty sure I read June 6th. It could have been changed.

Now in the newsletter, it does have two scenarios about what they think the timeline will be. In one scenario they get through June 15th in April and in the other they get through June 8th, so the 6th falls closely in line with the latter. We'll just have to wait and see I guess. If they do 5-31 through 6-6, that is 7 days worth, or one week. So maybe that is a good possibility!

I feel good that we are going to see more than the 31st anyway, and that's a true sigh of relief. LID 6/28

what was actually scary about the scenarios in ccai's newsletter, is that they took the scenarios out to sept lids -- and they didnt even allow for the possibility that we'd go back to full months before then. i.e. the scenarios they had showed 2 possibilities: either the ccaa would take 2 months to get through each of june, july, aug, and sept, or that they would take 3 months to get through each of those months. scary

I think they truly don't know at this point. I think the CCAA (or the contacts they have) either don't know, or are unable to tell. I really think a lot of it has to do with how many babies they have. I remember reading (I think on this blog) that the SWI directors from orphanages in the countryside were scared to submit paperwork on some babies. I think this has more to do with it than anything. In a communist country, where the government has the power, this is frightening I am sure for the directors. If they would communicate that babies already in the orphanages are grandfathered in, that might help...

All I know is I tried to count out how long it will be for us to get a referral with an Aug LID if they continue at 1 1/2-2 week at a time....and lets just say IF that happens we won't be travelling until next year. So depressing.

I think people who are reporting CCAI information need to stop, this information is intended for CCAI families only. I would hate to see them stop giving us information because of some people sharing it to others.

What is the deal with all the "secret" information from agencies? This is not life altering information. I dont' see why what one agency reports in a news letter is "top secret". Aren't we all in this together...to provide homes to beautiful children who are waiting for us. I guess the last couple months there has been talk of this on several boards...and I just don't see what is so top secret about how many files are Logged in on a specific day or what they think is going to happen with referrals.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

I don't think anything has to be a secret but if you choose to pass information leave the agency out of it. Every agency is trying to do the best at giving info out. And when people post it to others with the agencies name then everyone is in a uproar when it doesn't happen. And I think that will cause agencies to share less.
And we gain nothing with that.

CCAI's website NEVER said referrals would be through June 6, only the first week of June. Let's get things straight before reporting them, please.

The last post is why we should be really careful about what is said. And to not post agencies names. Remember the game we played growing up where you go around the room and start be saying one thing and by the time it has gone around it doesn't sound the same.
This is what is happening here!

My favorite is when we actually speculate here, and then one of us posts it to another board, and then another one of us reads it on that other board, and then reports back here that it's now be cooroberated. That's happened a couple times. Hilarious.

I think we all need to keep in mind no one is reporting these as facts. I am sure the agencies reporting anything are making this very clear. These are all rumors. Remembering this can help you stay sane during the next week or two.
