CCAA coming to America?

I've seen this enough to know it is likely true. I'd like to try to nail down when they are leaving China and when they will return. And, most importantly, if the director will be coming. Referrals can not go out until the director signs them. So, if the director is coming then a batch will likely go out just before he leaves China, and then the next batch about three or four or five business days after he returns.

There was a CCAA delegation that included some civil affairs representatives from certain provinces in the Northeast and NY areas in mid-March. They visited with a lot of agencies. At our agency's function/visit, the delegation introduced themselves, made some nice comments, and took lots of pictures of the families and children in attendance, but there really wasn't any opportunity to ask questions or learn about the current referral process.

just so you know, it didn't appear that anyone was using any of their agencie's names there for awhile, but now it seems everyone is. I'm not sure this kind of talk should be a problem with agencies...

This 'visit' isn't something that was hush hush for us or posted on a secret area that only families have access to. It was a postcard we received in the mail. I don't honestly know what the reception is totally for, but the timing seems a little too coincidental. We may hear alittle something...then again we may not. I'll let let you (all) know. Unless they hold us to secrecy. just kidding :D

Tomorrow? Wow. Any idea if the director is coming?

If they are coming tomorrow, and if the director is coming, then unless he signed them before leaving we won't see a mid month referral batch.

Any idea how long they'll be in the U.S.?

Director Lu of CCAA and a party of 7, including a director of the
reviewing department and of the finance department, will be in Los Angeles for two nights - starting tomorrow.

RQ-

backing up what Donna said...I checked my invitation and it definitely states that Director General Lu is among the delegation.

I guess I didn't know too much about him signing off on things as you mentioned. Guess that throws another log on the fire eh?!
I'm sure things were accomodated for in relation to this little trip.

p.s. since coming on to your site here and loving the fact that people are sharing info and generally being frustrated and hopeful and all that together (it's kind of supporting in a way) I just have to say that lately there's some posts that just make me want to use that catch phrase "why can't we all just get along?" This is an excellent alternative to the Yahoo! Groups or any other kind of group thing us waiting parents have to get together on and share info, ideas, etc. I don't think we need well...as a guy saying this..."catty-ness" in our posts. And also as a guy...and a waiting 1st time parent...I'm also going through all the ups/downs, frustrations, being over-optimistic, etc. If anyone's not during this...then something's not right. :) thanks for letting us share in all this RQ!
