Talk about confusing

I have lots of emails - every single one of them starting out something like:
"Hi, we are using XXX agency" (where the agency name is different in most emails)
and then about half of them end with something close to:
"and they say the wait is going to be around 12 to 14 months"
and about half of them end with something like:
"and they are preparing us for a wait that could be much longer than 12 months"

i wonder if the half of the emailers are saying that their agencies "are preparing us for a wait that is lnger than 14 months" because these particular emailers have LIDs in the winter of 05/spring of 06.

It is my personal belief that agencies ( and probably the ccaa) are hiding behind the 12-14 month thing because this is what they think it will be for the next 6 months or so. They dont HAVE to predict beyond 6 months or so because we all know you cant really predict beyond that, so they dont have to deal with the reality that those of us with Spring 06 LIDs are probably looking at longer waits.

It falls into the same category as the liberal ( and maddening) use of the word 'current' by agencies.

of course my theory doesnt jibe with the story of the husband with the december lid who got an optimistic answer from the chairman. but i do think agencies could be seeing some big months ahead and know that we might run into a problem similar to the may/june 05 dossier glut in, say, january/february 06. if that makes any sense...

It seems to me that all the agencies are ultra conservative. Our agency says nothing, and I mean nothing. That's about as conservative as it gets. I don't even ask our agency about the wait anymore. I figure I get enough info from everyone else. At this point I think we need to plan for a minimum of 12 months and who knows beyond that. All we can do is wait for the next batch of referrals...whenever that is :)
