CCAA Medical Board
I've never heard of this before, so I'm guessing maybe it's something new. It sounds like when there are medical issues that the CCAA is unsure of that your dossier now goes in front of a Medical Board who makes the decision.
Someone with a 7 year old liver transplant was recently denied by the Medical Board. No information on whether there may have been other issues.

Maybe this is why the CCAA is getting so far ahead with the reviews, so that you don't have to wait all the way until referral time to find out that you will not be able to adopt. I have seen this happen in my group when someone was only a month away from referral. It would be better to know earlier so that you could switch to another program. Just my thoughts.
Prof - do you have a problem with the information? If you do then say so. There are people who are very worried about how the CCAA is handling medical issues, I'm reporting what I am hearing.
Vicki - that's the rumor, that they are trying to get the review process done earlier so families don't have to wait a year to be turned down.
One other note, two people have emailed me that the liver transplant was the only issue. One good thing, they are with an agency that does countries besides China and that agency is switching them over to another country. I hope the best for them.
Someone just emailed me their LID, it was 8/31/05
Also, if I'm remembering the details correctly, they were actually notified of a problem a while back, and it just went to the medical board in the past couple of days.
Someone else emailed me that their LID was 9/30.
