New Poll

I've created a new Poll, giving each choice 3 business days. At a later date I will do another one that goes out farther, but this one will be nice to have when the next referrals come out. I know I'm going to get a lot of comments and emails saying "my LID is in October, how do I record mine?" Well, you can't. Not yet anyway. When we are done with this poll we'll do one that goes out farther, for right now we need this detail. You'll note that I can't vote in this poll, either. So don't feel bad. This one gives 20 choices, and doesn't appear to use pop-ups. So even though it's not as pretty, it should do the job we need it to do. Please pay attention when you vote - the radio button you want to mark is before the date you want to record. Also, once you've voted you just need to click on the "View" button to see the results again - please don't vote more than once. There are a few safeguards against this, but best to not do it anyway.

I might be able to clarify that June 6 not included thing. Our LID was apparently mis-reported to us. We were told it was June 6 - and yes, I have the paper confirmation of that - only to be told today that it is 'really' June 7.
My guess is that the person on APC is part of this lovely group of very very very angry right now and don't tell me not to be people.

An update from my (tiny regional) agency today confirmed the shortage of baby dossiers. Seems like this part is pretty much fact. They are hopeful it will speed up soon, and have never seen it get beyond 14 months and don't expect that now.

12 months was the wait (really 12 months to the day from DTC but login date was about a week later.)

I've had a few people who emailed me to tell me that they voted once for themselves and once for their friend who isn't on the internet and that I should count both votes.

I can't do that, but even if I could I wouldn't. We are counting people who are online and who are stalking a rumor blog. If we start counting people who aren't online like that then it will skew the results. It will make it even more un-scientific than it already is.

The software kicks out duplicates though, I don't get to choose which to keep and which to toss, so even if I wanted to I still couldn't count your double votes.

RQ-
there's a Aug05 poll in the group I'm in as well. Only been up about a day or two...so far I'd say about 80-85% of the LIDS are 2nd half of Aug. Anxious to see how June and July's polls turn out as well. Could give us an insight of a possible time frame perhaps?

With your polls, what constitutes a "big" number? For example, is 48 LIDs in one 3 day period a "big" number?

It's gonna take three months to get through June, isn't it?

Personally, I would like to know how that Log-In process kind of works...maybe if you could shed some light on this RQ??
Does the CCAA just log the dossiers in as they get them? or do they have them go on certain days, or what...??
The comment was made about different and many LIDs in a month. To me, and taking into consideration all the other countries China deals with, There could be dossiers logged-in every business day of each month depending on how they come in. I think one agency may have say 12 different days of LIDs for a month, another..say 8 different days with LIDs, but when you put them all together, you could have the possibility of every day (business) as a LID. That and the possibility of one day having barely a few dossiers logged-in...while there could be a couple of days (like 5/31) with a large amount of dossiers logged-in.

does this make any sense and what is your understanding of this process RQ?

My understanding is that one person logs dossiers in as they arrive. It's apparently a pretty long drawn out process that involves entering a lot of our info into a computer and perhaps even scanning our passport photos in (still not clear on whether the scanning is done at log in or in the review room).

Occasionally, when this person gets far behind, they put other people over to help get caught up. That's (apparently) why we occasionally see some big days.

Also, apparently when they come in they aren't put in order, but must be put into stacks. I'm guessing this is why we often see earlier DTC's with a later LID than later DTC's. The ones that arrive first are put in a stack and then the later arrivals are placed on top, and then when they finally get to that particular stack they work their way down the stack. Just guessing on that one, but there doesn't appear to be a rhyme or reason to it.

Anyway, it makes sense that there should be LID's for every business day, unless the person responsible for logging them in was out sick or maybe had another responsibility that day (like moving).

thank you so much!!!

hopefully that will help us get a better understanding of how the months are, how and why the LIDs are where they are, etc. Like I had mentioned, just looking at our Aug05 LID poll so far, most of the LIDs are 2nd half Aug. our Dossier was received at the CCAA on 7/25 and logged in on 8/10. can't speak for June or July, but seems like there wasn't as many dossiers getting into the CCAA late July based on that understanding...and once again just based on response by us responding to these polls. doesn't mean there wasn't quite abit but haven't seen it so far....

thanks again RQ!

I can relate to the people angry with their agency,we were sent an email saying our LID date was 8/23, not 8/5, as previously(last September)sent to us in a letter! What is going on with these mix-ups? I am from a small agency and they are almost always logged in during the first week..was something happening in August?/I'm devestated...

ANd so RQ-I voted twice, and I wonder how skewed the numbers are due to misinformation from agencies...

L&H - it will only count your first vote, I'll have to try to get an idea of how many voted who are affected and figure that manually later.

Any word from your agency on how this was communicated to them, and when, and WHY it was changed?

Was this the same agency that just had the June 6/7th fiasco or a different one?

Same agency, which prompted others to start asking questions! No info from them yet on why or how but I'll keep you posted.
