Referrals are arriving

Referrals are arriving at some agencies today. Which again begs the question – why the CCAA hasn’t updated their site yet. Congratulations to those families receiving referrals today!

Once you’ve calmed down a bit (and emailed and called everyone you know), your next step will be to go here and find your daughter’s (or son’s) orphanage group. Once you join the group you’ll be able to get feedback from others about the health and development of the babies from that orphanage. You’ll also likely be able to see pictures of the orphanage, and you may even luck out and see your child in pictures of those who’ve recently visited the orphanage.

And, please, if your child’s orphanage is not listed on the RCC links, let me know. We're still looking to see if new orphanages are being added.

What is up with ya'll? I've been to China. A couple of times. I am very well aware of the fact that daytime here is nighttime there. Sheesh.

My whole point was NOT to slam anyone, but to wonder if there is a reason it hasn't been updated. Referrals were supposedly mailed Thursday. So, they had Thursday and Friday and Monday to update it. In case ya'll weren't aware, it takes a few days for referrals to get here, they are sent hardcopy, not emailed, so it's not like an immediate thing. Maybe ya'll thought it was?

Apparently ya'll aren't aware that in the past the site has been updated between them being mailed and arriving - since the CCAA started the updates, the site was updated well before referrals arrived. So, is it maybe possible that they are furiously working on the rest of May and aren't going to update until they mail them all?

Sheesh - ya'll need to take a chill pill.

wannabeamom- Rumor Queen doesn't need to be defended by an outsider like myself but I just felt compelled to remind you (because rumor queen may be too nice to) that this is her blog.

Even if she was posting negative comments about the CCAA, which she was not, that is her right. This is not an agency forum, it is her personal space that she has graciously turned into an information resource for fellow adopters.

As for your concerns over the CCAA feeling "beat up," I appreciate your worry and state of nervousness but I personally don't think the CCAA has time to read things like this.

If they did, the impression I feel this site portrays is that American (and Spanish, and Canadian...) parents are proactive, concerned, and anxious to be a complete family. I think the worst case scenario is that they will view us as obnoxious and demanding. I'm ok with that. Sometimes I am obnoxious and demanding.

Please don't take this as an attack on you wannabeamom. It's just something I felt like voicing. I too feel like walking on eggshells when it comes to the CCAA and even my agency at times for fear of ruffling feathers and losing our privileges.

I just think it's unhealthy to keep frustrations and concerns bottled up so I'm thankful for this opportunity to utilize Rumor Queen's blog.
