From Holt

A few folks from Holt have sent me what they got from their agency:
Fluke - maybe, but we're not complaining! We received a late and previously lost DHL package yesterday, which contained matches for families with DTCs of 4/15 & 4/22 (LIDs of 5/26 & 5/30). Families with DTCs of 4/29 (and LIDs of 5/31) onward continue to wait for their referral. As far as we know, no other agencies received referrals through 5/30 LIDs. The CCAA website still says that referral went through 5/25 LIDs. Therefore, we are surmising that there may have been a clerical log-in error along the way causing these families to be logged in later than they should have been. The CCAA has not told us why we received this group so we're not going to make a big deal about it. Hopefully, this will not affect the timing or size of the April match group.
So, it sounds like they are saying this was part of the lost DHL packages. Which doesn't quite add up to me... if they were lost then the people would have been expecting them and lamenting that the package was lost. Right?

Maybe the 'clerical error' was they were told the wrong LIDs - maybe they were actually logged earlier than the date that that Holt was told?

That would make sense Anonymous. I still think there is something else to the story, but I'm guessing we're not going to find out what it was. It just seems to me that if Holt was missing a package that at least some of the people would have been waiting for them to find it. Like the CHI and the GW people were/are. Maybe they were and I just somehow missed their blogs?

I'm *very* happy for the families who got that surprise phone call. Can you imagine getting it out of the blue like that?

I would say that the CCAA should switch to UPS, but then I got a letter via UPS yesterday that had gotten caught in a conveyor belt and it was mangled. Does FedEx operate in Beijing?

Yes Fedex does operate to Beijing (that is how our dossier was sent) and also Guangzhou because I have successfully sent papers to there via Fedex. Most of the major international couriers operate in the major cities but not always to the provinces and not to rural areas

Harrah's had some LIDs "corrected" back in January - DTC was April 15th, LID was originally given as May 23rd and was changed in January to May 14th. Perhaps something similar happened with Holt, except that they didn't receive notice of the "corrected" LIDs?

From what I understand, Holt sent dossiers in April that got held up in customs and caused people to have a LID 6 weeks from their DTC dates. The CCAA sent out referrals for these people to make up for the customs delay.
